Getting started

MeFi runs on a crypto wallet — there's no username or password. When you first open MeFi you can create a wallet in seconds (your recovery phrase is generated in your browser — write it down and keep it safe, because only you have it), or connect an existing wallet like MetaMask.

Then just start streaming. Play any track and you begin earning automatically — no setup required.

How you earn

Every second you stream is recorded on-chain and contributes to your creator-token earnings and on-chain activity.

You earn each creator's fan token by streaming eligible content, so listening to an artist builds up your holding of their token. MEFI is the platform's settlement and creator-reward asset; the weekly jackpot is a separate MEFI reward pool tied to on-chain streaming activity.

Creator-token rewards arrive as you listen. KEY staking can unlock creator-token earning and increase platform boosts depending on your tier.

Artist tokens & bonding curves

Every creator has a tradeable token that follows a bonding curve: the price rises as people buy and falls as they sell.

Early on a token trades on its curve. Once its reserve reaches the graduation threshold it graduates — liquidity is added to a public PulseX pool and it trades freely there.

Artist tokens are community and fan tokens, not investments. Their value is volatile and can go to zero.

Jackpots, boxes & staking

Weekly jackpot: MEFI bought for the reward inventory is distributed through the platform's weekly reward system tied to on-chain streaming activity.

Mystery Box: a paid open costs 1.45 KEY by default and can be used once per UTC day. A 7-day streaming streak unlocks one free open per rolling week. Each open pays a random 1–20% slice of the current HEX prize pool.

KEY staking: lock KEY to unlock creator-token earning and platform boosts. Maintaining a 365-day streaming streak can also earn permanent Legendary Listener status.

Cashing out

Your earnings live in your own wallet as crypto — MeFi never holds them.

To turn MEFI into spendable value, you can redeem MEFI for eDAI (a stablecoin) in the app; MEFI is backed by an on-chain eDAI reserve. From there you can off-ramp eDAI to fiat, or use the MeFi card (when available) to spend directly.

Artist tokens can be sold on their bonding curve, or on PulseX once the token has graduated.

Wallet security

Your wallet is yours alone. MeFi never stores your private keys or recovery phrase. If you created a wallet through MeFi, your recovery phrase was generated in your browser and only you have it.

Write it down and store it offline. If you lose it, no one — including MeFi — can recover your wallet or funds. Never share your recovery phrase with anyone.
